Exploring new foods is easier and more fun when you take it step by step.
Written by a Speech-Language Pathologist and Pediatric Feeding Specialist, Fearless Food Explorer helps families turn the scary world of new foods into an adventure in confidence and curiosity. Follow Jack as he learns to explore apple slices with his senses, looking, touching, smelling, and discovering before ever taking a bite. With playful activities for children and practical tips for parents, this story makes the process of trying new foods positive, encouraging, and fun.
You’ve switched bottles, begged your toddler to take a bite, or spent hours stressing over solids that end up on the floor. You’ve googled, asked for advice, and seen the specialist, but nothing is working.
Feeding your child shouldn’t feel this hard or this lonely.
Whether it’s bottle refusal, gagging on solids, navigating a feeding complexity or something else, you deserve answers, a clear plan, and a path forward that feels hopeful.
Feeding challenges can look very different from one child to another. The first step is understanding why your child is struggling — and what actually needs to change.
You’ve tried everything. But mealtimes are still a battle.
Sarah Auriemma, M.S., CCC-SLP Founder & Pediatric Feeding Specialist
I'm Sarah Auriemma, MS, CCC-SLP, a pediatric feeding and swallowing specialist. I help families understand what's behind their child's feeding difficulties and create practical strategies that work in real life. With my expert, personalized support families who have struggled for months or years, finally start to see improvement in their child’s eating.
My experience includes training and working on the Feeding & Swallowing Team at Boston Children's Hospital and treating children with feeding and swallowing challenges ranging from infancy through childhood.
But successful feeding support isn't only about what happens during a feeding therapy session.
Parents are the ones navigating breakfast, snacks, dinner, daycare, restaurants and the hundreds of everyday moments where feeding actually happens. That's why parent coaching has become such an important part of my work.
My goal isn't to give you another list of feeding tips. It's to help you understand your child, know what to change and feel confident moving forward.

Find the Right Level of Feeding Support
Every child doesn't need the same kind of feeding support. Some families need an expert opinion and a clear plan. Others need ongoing coaching as they make changes at home. And some children benefit from direct clinical evaluation and feeding therapy.
3-Week Mealtime Transformation Plan (Virtual)
Our most effective and intensive offering, The Mealtime Transformation Plan is for families ready to make meaningful changes at home.
This program utilizes parent interview, mealtime videos and weekly meetings over the course of 3 weeks to create meaningful and lasting change at your dinner table. This intensive, individualized parent coaching program is primarily for families struggling with picky eating, shrinking food variety, stressful meals and feeding patterns that just aren't improving.
Over three weeks, we'll identify what's keeping your child stuck, create an individualized plan and work together as you put those strategies into practice.
One-Time Feeding Consultation (Virtual)
For parents who need expert guidance and a clear place to start.
A one-time virtual consultation to talk through your child's feeding history, your biggest concerns and what you've already tried. You'll leave with individualized recommendations and clear next steps. Cut through all the noise and get expert support.
In Home Feeding Evaluation & Therapy (Limited Spots Available)
For children who need direct clinical assessment or treatment.
Comprehensive pediatric feeding evaluations and a limited number of ongoing in-home feeding therapy spots are available in Ocean and Monmouth Counties, NJ.
Evaluations: $500
Ongoing therapy: $680/month
By combining my specialized training with a deeply supportive approach, you’ll receive personalized, practical care rooted in compassion.

Why support now matters
Feeding challenges rarely improve on their own. Many parents are told:
“It’s just a phase.”
“They’ll grow out of it.”
“They’re gaining weight, so it’s fine.”
But the truth is, intervention is what leads to improvement.
Waiting often delays progress, reinforces picky habits, and increases stress for everyone. Let's change that. Together!

“Wonderful! Sarah came to my rescue when I was having a hard time introducing food to my baby who for months refused to really eat anything, in a couple months we got my 1 year old eating like a normal baby instead of spitting everything out . Amazing and very experienced and knowledgeable who helped me through a difficult time. Thank you again!”

The Ocean Pediatric Feeding Difference
Unlike traditional clinic-based feeding therapy, this coaching model keeps you at the center of the process.
🅧 Most clinics:
→ Take your child into a therapy room while you wait outside
→ Offer little parent involvement or coaching
→ Give you a quick 2‑minute recap at the end of the session
→ See your child once a week with no guidance in between
✓At Ocean Pediatric Feeding:
✓ You stay involved in every single session
✓ You get real‑time strategies and coaching while your child learns
✓ Sessions are focused on making adjustments in the moment not just talking about it after the fact
✓ You get on-going support
This tailored, parent-led model consistently produces faster progress and more confident, connected mealtimes.
